June's Writing
June wrote with such joy and optimism, whether it was a prose or poetry. She often engaged in whimsical imaginings of what might be. What you could be sure of, when you read something of hers, you would feel better afterward. This piece typifies her inexaustible sunny outlook. There are links to more of her writing below. She was also a prolific letter writer and her offerings in the mail were greatly anticipated by children who had moved away from home.
A Private Corner - a nice litte reflection on her special space among the family chaos.
Garden Gnomes and Friends - this was story June wrote for her grandchildren when her and Les moved to Melbourne in the early 1980's. It is full of her lovely reassurance.
If I Could Have My Time Over - mostly rembering her first days at school.
Train Rides With Dad - remembering an annual trip in the train from Sydney to Lismore with her Dad.
Traveling Around Australia - a collection of pieces June wrote for her writing club at Carrington, describing some of the highlights of their travels around Australia.
Poems - June was a prolific poet, writing mostly with a signature rhyming pattern. She was greatly influenced by the poetry of Helen Steiner Rice, particularly the themes of optimism and the role of a Christian God in her life.
